David Tanner - David O’Sullivan was a relative of mine on my fathers Irish (O’Brien’s and O’Sullivan’s) side of the family. He died in the first wave of parachute drops before the beach landings. They were tasked with taking and holding the village of Ranville, in support of the famous attack on Pegasus Bridge. Of the 550 men dropped only 300 survived to launch the attack. At the end of the attack only 55 survived.
